The bank underwent several name changes and organizational developments over the years, including a change to York State Bank and Trust Company on February 24, 1976, and finally adopting the name York State Bank on June 2, 2011. Significant milestones in its history include the acquisition of First York Savings Company in York, Nebraska, on February 10, 1984; Fillmore County Bank in Geneva, Nebraska, on July 17, 1986; and Gresham State Bank in Gresham, Nebraska, on December 31, 1986. More recently, on May 1, 1995, the bank acquired Harlan County Bank located in Alma, Nebraska.
