History Of WSB Municipal Bank
WSB Municipal Bank, originally established as The Redwood National Bank on April 24, 1913, has undergone several name changes and relocations throughout its history. The bank was initially founded in Redwood, New York, and later moved its main office to various locations, including Alexandria Bay, New York, where it operated from 1983 at Main Street, and subsequently at 6 Market Street in 1989 and 4 Market Street in 1996. On July 1, 2003, the institution changed its name to Redwood Bank and transitioned to a state-chartered bank while retaining its membership in the Federal Reserve System. Shortly thereafter, on June 14, 2008, the bank adopted its current name, WSB Municipal Bank, and relocated its main office to 111 Clinton Street in Watertown, New York. Subsequently, on the same day, it withdrew from membership in the Federal Reserve System and changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.
