Wolverine Bank, originally established as Wolverine Federal Savings and Loan Association in 1933, underwent several name and organizational structure changes throughout its history. In 1988, the bank relocated its main office to 143 McDonald Street in Midland, Michigan. In 1993, it changed its name to Wolverine Bank, Federal Savings Bank, and transitioned to a Mutual Savings Bank. The institution's primary federal regulatory agency changed to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency in 2011, and it restructured as a Stock Savings Bank shortly thereafter. In 2003, the main office moved again, this time to 5710 Eastman Avenue in Midland, Michigan. On October 17, 2017, Wolverine Bank merged with Horizon Bank, headquartered in Michigan City, Indiana. The institution officially changed its name to Horizon Bank on March 26, 2019.
