History Of Western Security Bank
Western Security Bank, originally established as Western Federal Savings and Loan Association in 1911, underwent several significant changes throughout its history. In 1985, it changed its name to Western Federal Savings and Loan Association of Montana, and the main office was relocated to 100 East Broadway, Missoula, Montana. The institution evolved over the years, becoming a Stock Savings Bank in 1988 after acquiring Great Falls Federal Savings and Loan Association. In 1991, it further expanded by acquiring First Federal Savings and Loan Association, followed by the acquisition of Security Bank, FSB in 1997. The organization transitioned to the name Western Security Bank in 1998. In 2001, Western Security Bank merged and became part of another financial institution located in Billings, Montana. This culminated in a merger with Glacier Bank on April 30, 2012, which ultimately led to the name change to Glacier Bank on January 1, 2018.
