I opened an account with Western Bank on August 2nd. My experience with them has been the worst experience with a business to date in my life.
I was removed from accessing my funds entirely. When you remove access to a person's money, and subsequent freedom, it should be warranted, recorded and noted. My account was closed, my money held from me and my access to my online account, denied.
Marsha with Western Bank stated I was removed from my account for "Bad Behavior". My "bad behavior" was sharing feedback, which was solicited directly from the bank, regarding online banking infrastructure. I was unable to login for 4 business days post-account opening. Bank representatives called me twice and asked me for my opinion. Here's as "bad" behavior as it got: They asked me about customer service - to which I said, "they were great, but I am not banking with you for customer service - I am banking with you for quick and convenient access to my funds". That was the straw that broke their backs, apparently, because the following day I received a phone call from an irate woman named, "Marsha" who stated my account will be closed due to my displeasure with the bank and my feedback shared the day prior. I asked for recordings - they don't have them. I asked for a definition of "bad behavior", they also don't have that. They chose to burden me by removing access to my money and It was purely retaliatory. Since they cut me a cashiers check, I Was without my money for over 5 days as the mail was in transit. Marsha and their team knew what they were doing.
It is retaliation for the feedback they themselves asked me for on multiple occasions in multiple formats and media and my honest feedback did not sit well with them. Their solution: Remove her all access to her money.
I opened my account on August 2nd and it was closed on me on August 10th. During this time, I was unable to view my funds or remove any money and my card was declined.
I have never felt more bullied or wrongfully accused or experienced such deliberate malice in my life.my money. And for literally... a crazy interoffice gossip thing? This cannot be how you run a bank.
If you are smart enough to be in the corner of your best interest - close your account with Western Bank ASAP. They operate not on evidentiary statements, recordings or definitions in consensual agreements, but solely on interoffice gossip and discriminatory, ethically questionable practices. If you are wise, you will not allow such inept and childlike individuals to hold your money and subsequent freedom.
For the record, even though I wasn't happy with this bank, I never went out of my way to express this. I was contacted three separate times from Western Bank explicitly asking for feedback on my experience: a call from Lorena at the branch, a letter to my home, and lastly, a call from a rep with the Lordsburg branch. When I finally provided the feedback, I was then retaliated and extorted for it. That's exactly what happened. I know, it's almost unbelievable.
The screenshot is of the bank (...and marsha's directive, which I also feel was not intended for my eyes, but instead an internal IT error) removing my access to my accounts after the call I received from her stating that because of my negative feedback, they have chosen to close my account - with no access to my funds, by the way and no note of it's transitory process).
