Western Alliance Bank is a commercial bank that was established on February 3, 2003, originally named Alliance Bank of Arizona. The institution underwent a name change to Western Alliance Bank on December 31, 2010. Over the years, the bank expanded its operations through several acquisitions, including First Independent Bank of Nevada in Reno, Nevada, and Centennial Bank in Fountain Valley, California, both completed by the end of 2010. In December 2013, Western Alliance Bank acquired Bank of Nevada in Las Vegas, Nevada, and Torrey Pines Bank in San Diego, California. The bank continued its growth by acquiring Bridge Bank, National Association in San Jose, California, on June 30, 2015. On January 30, 2015, Western Alliance Bank changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Reserve and became a member of the Federal Reserve System. This change included a shift in the bank's classification to a state-chartered bank.
