History Of Westamerica Bank
Westamerica Bank is a regional bank based in California, originally established on February 24, 1884, as The First National Bank of Cloverdale. The institution underwent several name changes and regulatory transitions throughout its history. In February 1980, it became The First National Bank of Mendocino County, and on July 1, 1983, it adopted the name Westamerica Bank, National Association. The bank relocated its main office to San Rafael, California, during the same year and later changed its name to simply Westamerica Bank on August 31, 1993. Over the years, Westamerica Bank expanded through multiple acquisitions, including notable mergers with institutions such as the National Bank of the Redwoods in 2005 and Sonoma Valley Bank in 2010, many of which were conducted under government-assisted merger programs. In January 2008, the bank withdrew from the Federal Reserve System, later returning and becoming a member again in May 2011. COMPLAINT: I arrived late afternoon Thursday 10/7 and because of the remodeling of the building I couldn't get to the drop box but a lady inside the suite took my deposit envelope through the crack in the door. .
