West Alabama Bank & Trust, established on July 29, 1944, originally operated under the name Bank of Reform in Reform, Alabama. Over the years, the institution underwent several transformations, including a name change to West Alabama Bank on May 15, 1984, and subsequently to West Alabama Bank & Trust on April 18, 1987. This period also saw the bank expand its capabilities, including a change to full trust powers on April 7, 1987. The main office relocated multiple times, with significant moves to Main Street, Reform, Alabama, and later to 509 First Avenue West in the same town in September 2000.
