WCF Financial Bank, originally established as Webster City Federal Savings and Loan Association on June 1, 1934, has undergone several name and organizational changes throughout its history. In 1990, the institution restructured, changing its name to Webster City Federal Savings Bank and transitioning from a federal savings and loan association to a mutual savings bank. By 1994, it adopted the status of a stock savings bank. On April 1, 2014, the bank changed its name to WCF Financial Bank and later acquired Independence Federal Bank for Savings in Independence, Iowa, on January 3, 2014. The bank's main office moved to 401 Fair Meadow Drive in Webster City, Iowa, on April 27, 2015. As regulatory frameworks evolved, the bank changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency in July 2011, and subsequently to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) on June 30, 2018.
