History Of Waypoint Bank
Waypoint Bank, originally established as First National Bank in Cozad, Nebraska, on January 1, 1883, has undergone several changes throughout its history. In December 1916, the bank expanded its services by changing its trust powers to full. Significant regulatory changes occurred in July 1972 when the bank withdrew from membership in the Federal Reserve System, altered its charter to become a state-chartered bank, and changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). The main office was relocated to 747 Meridian in Cozad in August 1984. The bank grew through acquisitions, including Farmers State Bank in Eustis, Nebraska, in November 2004; First State Bank in Imperial, Nebraska, in August 2007; and The First National Bank of Cambridge in Cambridge, Nebraska, in June 2013. On September 30, 2002, it acquired The First National Bank of Otis in Otis, Colorado. In October 2017, the institution rebranded itself as Waypoint Bank.
