Wayne Bank, originally established as Wayne County Savings Bank in 1871, underwent several name changes and regulatory adjustments throughout its history. On January 22, 1962, the institution was renamed Wayne County Bank and Trust Company. In 1963, the bank withdrew from membership in the Federal Reserve System and changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), as well as reclassifying itself to a state-chartered bank. The name was officially changed to Wayne Bank on November 1, 1993. Over the years, Wayne Bank has expanded through acquisitions, including North Penn Bank in Scranton, Pennsylvania, on June 1, 2011; The National Bank of Delaware County in Walton, New York, on July 31, 2016; and Usny Bank in Geneva, New York, on July 7, 2020.
