Wayland State Bank was established on May 12, 1932, in Wayland, Iowa, originally under the name Wayland State Bank. On July 12, 2024, Wayland State Bank merged with Pilot Grove Savings Bank, based in Pilot Grove, Iowa, marking the end of its independent operations.
