Wayland State Bank

Wayland State Bank was established on May 12, 1932, in Wayland, Iowa, originally under the name Wayland State Bank. Over the years, the bank underwent several changes, including the relocation of its main office; in 1976, it moved to Main Street in Wayland, Iowa. Subsequent relocations occurred in 1996 and 1997, with the main office moving to 117 West Monroe Street and then to 301 South Main Street in Mount Pleasant, Iowa, respectively. In a strategic expansion effort, Wayland State Bank acquired Peoples State Bank in Winfield, Iowa, on October 1, 2016. On July 12, 2024, Wayland State Bank merged with Pilot Grove Savings Bank, based in Pilot Grove, Iowa, marking the end of its independent operations.
