VIST Bank

VIST Bank, originally established as The Merchants National Bank of Shenandoah on April 8, 1891, underwent several name and structural changes throughout its history. In 1995, the institution changed its name to Merchants Bank of Pennsylvania, withdrew from membership in the Federal Reserve System, and adjusted its regulatory status to FDIC oversight. Subsequently, on September 23, 2000, it rebranded as Leesport Bank and acquired The First National Bank of Leesport. As part of its growth strategy, the bank acquired The Madison Bank in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, on October 1, 2004, and adopted the name VIST Bank on March 3, 2008. In a notable expansion effort on November 19, 2010, VIST Bank acquired Allegiance Bank of North America through a government-assisted merger. After continued operations, VIST Bank merged with Tompkins Trust Company and officially changed its name to Tompkins Community Bank on January 1, 2022, marking the end of the VIST Bank brand.
