Viking Bank, National Association, is a commercial bank located in Alexandria, Minnesota, with a history that dates back to its establishment on April 7, 1981, originally under the name Viking Savings Association, Federal Association. In 1987, the institution changed its organization type to a stock savings and loan. The bank underwent several name changes, becoming Viking Savings Bank in 2009 and later Viking Bank on January 1, 2017. On the same date in 2017, the main office was relocated to 4277 Dakota Street in Alexandria. The bank transitioned to a commercial bank and national bank class, becoming a member of the Federal Reserve System on December 2, 2019, the same day it acquired First State Bank of Ashby in Ashby, Minnesota.
