Verus Bank

Verus Bank was established on March 4, 1974, originally named First National Bank of Derby. The bank underwent several name changes throughout its history, becoming First National Bank on November 18, 1994, and later Verus Bank, National Association, on March 15, 2004. On January 1, 2012, the bank changed its name to Verus Bank and also transitioned its regulatory agency to the Federal Reserve, becoming a state-chartered bank and a member of the Federal Reserve System. The bank's main office relocated to 1033 North Buckner Street in Derby, Kansas, on September 11, 1988. Finally, Verus Bank merged with Citizens Bank of Kansas located in Kingman, Kansas, on January 2, 2019, marking the end of its independent operations.
