History Of Univest Bank
Univest Bank, originally established as Union National Bank and Trust Company of Souderton in April 1876, has undergone several name changes and acquisitions throughout its history. In 2003, the institution changed its name to Univest National Bank and Trust Company and expanded its footprint by acquiring several banks, including Pennview Savings Bank in Souderton, First County Bank in Doylestown, and Suburban Community Bank in Chalfont. Following these expansions, on June 29, 2011, it rebranded as Univest Bank and Trust Company and became a member of the Federal Reserve System. The bank continued its growth trajectory in the following years by acquiring Valley Green Bank in Philadelphia in January 2015 and Fox Chase Bank in Hatboro in July 2016. Over the years, its primary federal regulatory agency has also shifted to the Federal Reserve, reflecting its evolution as a state-chartered bank. Additionally, on November 5, 1971, the bank's main office was relocated to 10 West Broad Street, Souderton, Pennsylvania.
