United Southwest Bank

United Southwest Bank was established in 1916 under the name Empire State Bank. The institution underwent a name change to United Southwest Bank in 1997 when it was acquired in Vesta, Minnesota. On November 17, 1981, the main office of the bank was relocated to 111 West Main Street in Cottonwood, Minnesota. After more than a century of operation, United Southwest Bank merged with First Independent Bank, based in Russell, Minnesota, on December 10, 2021, effectively becoming part of that institution.
