History Of United Midwest Savings Bank
United Midwest Savings Bank, headquartered in DeGraff, Ohio, was established on May 5, 1889, originally under the name Midwest Savings Bank. Over the years, the institution experienced several changes in its structure and regulatory oversight. On July 31, 1989, it changed its chartering agency to a state agency. The main office of the bank was relocated to 101 South Main Street, DeGraff, on October 31, 1987. In 1998, the bank adopted the name United Midwest Savings Bank. Significant expansions occurred in 2002 with the acquisition of Pendleton Federal Savings and Loan Association in Falmouth, Kentucky, and in 2004 with the acquisition of The First State Bank of West Manchester, Ohio. The bank transitioned its primary federal regulatory agency to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency on July 21, 2011, and subsequently changed its chartering agency to the Office of Thrift Supervision on August 1, 2007. On June 18, 2018, United Midwest Savings Bank restructured as a national bank and became a member of the Federal Reserve System, adopting its current name, United Midwest Savings Bank, National Association, on the same day.
