United Legacy Bank was established on December 28, 2001, originally named Riverside Bank of Central Florida. On January 31, 2010, the institution changed its name to United Legacy Bank. This bank underwent significant changes when it merged with National Bank of Commerce in Birmingham, Alabama, on February 28, 2015. Subsequently, on April 1, 2019, United Legacy Bank merged with CenterState Bank, National Association, in Winter Haven, Florida. Following this merger, the institution adopted the name SouthState Bank, National Association, first on June 8, 2020, and again formally recognized under that name on November 5, 2021.
