United Community Bank was established in 1894 under the name Bank of Poynette in Poynette, Wisconsin. The institution underwent a name change to United Community Bank on October 3, 2015, following its acquisition of Cambridge State Bank located in Cambridge, Wisconsin, on the same day. Over the years, United Community Bank expanded its operations and networks. On August 12, 1974, the main office was relocated to 105 South Main Street, Poynette, Wisconsin. On January 25, 2019, United Community Bank merged with Hometown Bank in Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin. The bank continued to evolve and, on February 10, 2023, it merged with Bank First, N.A., based in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, thereby ceasing to exist as an independent entity.
