United Bank of Philadelphia was established on March 23, 1992, and originally operated under the same name. Over the years, the bank underwent several significant changes and relocations of its main office. In 1993, it acquired Chase Federal Savings and Loan Association in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in a government-assisted merger. On December 21, 2007, the institution changed its name to United Bank of Philadelphia and transitioned from membership in the Federal Reserve System to become a state-chartered bank regulated by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC).
