History Of United Bank
United Bank, established on January 31, 1905, originally operated under the name The Bank of Zebulon. Over the years, it underwent several important changes and acquisitions. In 1984, the institution changed its name to United Bank of Pike. A significant transformation occurred in 1997 when the bank acquired United Bank in Barnesville, Georgia, and United Bank of Griffin, Georgia, leading to a rebranding as United Bank. The bank's main office relocated to 400 Griffin Street in Zebulon, Georgia, on February 27, 1995, and to 685 Griffin Street at a later date on April 9, 2015. United Bank continued to expand through a series of acquisitions, including First Georgia Community Bank in December 2008, First Coweta Bank in August 2009, and The First National Bank of Barnesville in October 2010, all as part of government-assisted mergers. In subsequent years, the bank also acquired Monroe County Bank in Forsyth, Georgia, on July 31, 2014, and The Woodbury Banking Company in Woodbury, Georgia, on August 19, 2016.
