History Of Town Country United Bank
Town Country United Bank was established on March 8, 1978, originally under the name Town-Country National Bank. The institution began its operations in Camden, Alabama, and on the same day of its establishment, it acquired Wilcox County Bank. Over the years, the bank underwent several changes, including a relocation of its main office to 118 Broad Street in Camden, Alabama, in December 2008. On January 1, 2022, Town Country National Bank rebranded itself as Town Country United Bank, withdrew from membership in the Federal Reserve System, and changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). This shift also involved changing its bank class to a state-chartered bank and modifying its chartering agency to the state level. The bank ultimately merged with United Bank on September 30, 2024, becoming part of the United Bank entity based in Atmore, Alabama.
