History Of Town And Country Bank

Town and Country Bank was established on March 1, 1962, originally named Town & Country Bank of Springfield. Over the years, the institution underwent several significant changes and expansions. In 1973, the main office was relocated to 1925 South Macarthur Boulevard in Springfield, Illinois, and it was renamed Town & Country Bank of Springfield. The bank further shortened its name to Town & Country Bank on July 11, 2009, when it acquired another institution of the same name in Buffalo, Illinois. In June 2011, the bank officially adopted the name Town and Country Bank. The bank continued to grow through acquisitions, including Logan County Bank in Lincoln, Illinois, on March 9, 2013, and Premier Bank of Jacksonville on March 1, 2016. Town and Country Bank became a member of the Federal Reserve System and changed its regulatory status to a state-chartered bank on November 1, 2001. On February 1, 2023, Town and Country Bank merged with Heartland Bank and Trust Company, based in Bloomington, Illinois, marking the end of its independent operations.
