History Of TIB Bank
TIB Bank, originally established as Texas Independent Bank on January 21, 1982, has undergone several name changes and regulatory transitions throughout its history. The institution was renamed to Texas Independent Bankersbank on December 31, 1998, and later to TIB The Independent Bankersbank on May 31, 2017, when it also changed its primary federal regulatory agency and chartering agency to The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. On the same date, TIB transitioned to a national bank and became a member of the Federal Reserve System. The bank's main office has relocated several times; it was situated at 5205 North O’Connor Boulevard in Irving, Texas, from February 28, 1986, before moving to various locations in Irving, ultimately settling at 11701 Luna Road, Farmers Branch, Texas, on September 22, 2014. Significant acquisitions include the purchase of South Bay Bank, National Association in Torrance, California, on June 19, 2007, and the acquisition of Independent Bankers' Bank Bridge Bank, National Association in Springfield, Illinois, on January 13, 2010, as part of a government-assisted merger. Most recently, on July 1, 2021, the institution was renamed Tib National Association.
