The Village Bank was established on January 1, 1920, originally under the name State Bank of St. Libory. Over the decades, the bank underwent several changes in name and location. On September 30, 1989, the main office was relocated to Main Street in St. Libory, Illinois. In 1999, the institution changed its name to The Village Bank. The main office was moved again on May 14, 2007, to 856 Sparta Street in St. Libory, Illinois, where it remained until August 29, 2021, when the office was once again relocated to the same address, 856 Sparta Street, St. Libory, Illinois. On July 17, 2023, The Village Bank merged with First National Bank of Waterloo, becoming part of this financial institution in Waterloo, Illinois.
