History Of The Tilden Bank
The Tilden Bank was established on July 23, 1887, in Tilden, Nebraska. Over the years, the bank underwent several changes, including a relocation of its main office in 1990 to Main Street in Tilden. On August 12, 2009, the bank moved its main office again, this time to 100 East 2nd Street in Tilden, and that same day, it acquired Citizens State Bank in Clearwater, Nebraska. A significant regulatory change occurred on November 16, 2000, when The Tilden Bank changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Reserve and became a state-chartered bank, joining the Federal Reserve System. After operating for over a century, The Tilden Bank merged with Cornerstone Bank, based in York, Nebraska, on January 7, 2021, marking the end of its independent operations.
