The Peoples Bank was established on May 3, 1920, originally bearing the name Peoples Bank of Ewing in Ewing, Virginia. The bank underwent a significant name change on October 18, 1995, adopting the name The Peoples Bank. Over the decades, the bank's main office location shifted several times within Ewing, Virginia, with moves to Main Street on April 20, 1990; One Main Street on April 16, 2010; and then to 1637 Dr. Thomas Walker Road on July 31, 2011. On April 1, 2012, the main office was relocated again to 5499 Dr. Thomas Walker Road in Rose Hill, Virginia. The Peoples Bank ultimately merged with First Us Bank on August 31, 2018, becoming part of the larger banking institution located in Birmingham, Alabama.
