In its early years, the bank expanded its services through acquisitions, notably acquiring Centennial Bank & Trust in Mission, Kansas, on April 2, 1984. Additionally, on February 1, 2008, The Mission Bank furthered its growth by acquiring The Valley State Bank located in Roeland Park, Kansas. However, on January 1, 2017, The Mission Bank merged with Security Bank of Kansas City, based in Kansas City, Kansas, effectively ceasing to operate as an independent institution.
