The Milton Bank, originally established as The Milton Banking Company in 1922, served the financial needs of its community for several decades. In 1922, the institution's main office was located at 123 South Ohio Avenue in Wellston, Ohio. This location remained the bank's main office after a move in 1990. In April 2008, The Milton Bank expanded its operations by acquiring The First National Bank of New Holland, located in New Holland, Ohio. However, the bank's independent operations came to an end on August 6, 2016, when it merged with The Ohio Valley Bank Company based in Gallipolis, Ohio.
