The Henry County Bank was established on May 11, 1936, originally under the name The Holgate State Bank. Over the years, the institution underwent several changes, including a shift in its regulatory status on June 21, 1956, when it became a state-chartered bank and withdrew from membership in the Federal Reserve System, subsequently being regulated by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). The institution adopted the name The Henry County Bank on July 1, 1969. The main office of the bank was relocated to 120 East Washington Street in Napoleon, Ohio, on April 1, 1972, and then moved again to 122 East Washington Street in Napoleon on November 15, 1973.
