Over its history, the bank has undergone several changes in ownership and location. On March 23, 2013, it acquired the Bank of Monticello, expanding its presence in Wisconsin. Subsequent to this acquisition, the bank moved its main office to 123 North Main Street in Lake Mills, Wisconsin, on May 1, 2017. On August 24, 2018, the institution rebranded itself to The Greenwood's State Bank. Further growth occurred on May 17, 2019, when the bank acquired the Fox River State Bank located in Burlington, Wisconsin.
