The Garnavillo Savings Bank was established on July 18, 1904, in Garnavillo, Iowa, originally operating under that name. On the same day of its founding, the bank moved its main office to Main Street in Garnavillo. Over the years, the bank underwent several changes, including the enhancement of its trust powers to full status in 1904 and again in 1913. In 1989, the main office was relocated to a different Main Street address in Garnavillo. On February 10, 2005, the main office moved once more to 101 South Main Street in Garnavillo. Ultimately, on October 1, 2015, The Garnavillo Savings Bank merged with Community Savings Bank, located in Edgewood, Iowa, marking the conclusion of its independent operations.
