On March 6, 1971, the bank relocated its main office to 10 First Street South in Cheyenne Wells, Colorado, while simultaneously adopting its current name. In August 2010, The Eastern Colorado Bank further expanded by acquiring Home State Bank in Erie, Kansas, and again changed its institutional name to The Eastern Colorado Bank. Subsequently, on December 1, 2012, the bank acquired Kit Carson State Bank located in Kit Carson, Colorado.
