The Denison State Bank was established on January 1, 1901, in Holton, Kansas, originally operating under the name The Denison State Bank. Over the years, the bank has undergone several significant changes, including a relocation of its main office on multiple occasions. On January 3, 1939, the main office moved to Main Street, Holton, Kansas, where it remained until December 30, 1989, when it relocated again to a different location on Main Street. In 1983, the bank changed its trust powers to full and later, on March 25, 1993, it modified its trust powers to none. A major development occurred on May 15, 2004, when The Denison State Bank acquired Countryside Bank in Meriden, Kansas.
