History Of The Bank of Perry
The Bank of Perry was established in 1889 under its original name. Throughout its history, the institution underwent several significant changes. On September 20, 1971, the main office was relocated to 1001 Carroll Street in Perry, Georgia. This was followed by another move on October 13, 1981, to a new facility at 1006 Main Street in Perry. After many years of operation, The Bank of Perry changed its name to Persons Banking Company on March 30, 2015. Subsequently, on February 6, 2015, it merged with and became part of The Farmers Bank located in Forsyth, Georgia. The Bank of Perry officially closed voluntarily and liquidated its assets on June 30, 2023.
