History Of The Bank of Kentucky

The Bank of Kentucky was established on August 1, 1990, initially bearing the name The Bank of Boone County, Inc. In 1995, the institution changed its name to The Bank of Kentucky, Inc. During its early years, the bank expanded through acquisitions, including Burnett Federal Savings Bank in Covington, Kentucky, and Fort Thomas Savings Bank in Fort Thomas, Kentucky, both acquired in the year 2000. The Bank of Kentucky continued to grow by acquiring other banks, such as First Bank of Northern Kentucky in 2007 and United Kentucky Bank of Pendleton County, Inc. in 2011. On February 1, 2003, the main office was relocated to 111 Lookout Farm Drive in Crestview Hills, Kentucky. The institution underwent a significant transition on June 19, 2015, when it merged with Branch Banking and Trust Company located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Later, on December 7, 2019, the institution was officially renamed Truist Bank, marking the end of The Bank of Kentucky as a distinct entity.
