The Bank of Forest was established on March 27, 1900, originally under the name "The Bank of Forest." Over the years, it has undergone several significant changes and expansions. On April 29, 1983, the main office was relocated to 211 West Third Street in Forest, Mississippi. The bank underwent further regulatory changes in 2007, when it withdrew from membership in the Federal Reserve System and changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), simultaneously reclassifying itself as a state-chartered bank. On September 28, 1990, The Bank of Forest expanded its operations by acquiring Central Savings and Loan Association located in Jackson, Mississippi. More recently, on October 1, 2017, the bank continued its growth strategy by acquiring the Bank of Walnut Grove in Walnut Grove, Mississippi.
