History Of The Bank of Fayette County
The Bank of Fayette County, originally established as Moscow Savings Bank on April 26, 1905, has undergone several name changes and relocations throughout its history. The institution adopted the name The Bank of Moscow on April 11, 1990, before changing its name to The Bank of Fayette County on February 1, 2004. In the same year, it became a state-chartered bank and joined the Federal Reserve System, changing its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Reserve on November 15, 2004. The bank's main office was initially located at various sites in Moscow, Tennessee, with relocations occurring in 1990 to Main Street, then to 47 Charleston Street in 1991, and subsequently to 120 Charleston Street in 1999. On June 15, 2012, the main office was moved to 1265 Highway 57 in Piperton, Tennessee, where it remains today. On April 29, 2016, The Bank of Fayette County acquired Trust Company Bank in Memphis, Tennessee, as part of a government-assisted merger.
