History Of The Bank of Delmarva

The Bank of Delmarva, originally established as the Bank of Delmar on December 14, 1896, underwent several name and structural changes throughout its history. In 1996, the institution transitioned to a national association and adopted the name The Bank of Delmar, National Association, while also becoming a member of the Federal Reserve System. Over the years, it changed its regulatory agency multiple times, rebranding to The Bank of Delmarva on April 28, 2003, and withdrawing from membership in the Federal Reserve System on the same day. The bank continued as a state-chartered bank not under the Federal Reserve, until it rejoined the Federal Reserve System on December 1, 2020. On March 1, 2018, The Bank of Delmarva expanded its operations by acquiring Liberty Bell Bank located in Marlton, New Jersey. The bank ultimately merged with LinkBank in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, on November 30, 2023, concluding its independent operations. Throughout its history, the institution has reflected a dynamic evolution within the banking landscape of Delaware and the surrounding region.
