History Of The Antwerp Exchange Bank Company
The Antwerp Exchange Bank Company was established on January 1, 1893. Initially, it operated under the same name it carries today. Throughout its history, the institution has undergone several regulatory changes and reclassifications. On August 15, 1939, it became a member of the Federal Reserve System and changed its classification to a state-chartered bank, allowing it to operate under the supervision of the Federal Reserve. However, this status changed on December 19, 1958, when the bank withdrew from membership in the Federal Reserve System, adopted a new primary federal regulatory agency, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, and reclassified as a state-chartered bank, thereby no longer participating in the Federal Reserve System. The bank's main office was relocated to 320 South Main Street, Antwerp, Ohio, on March 6, 1978.
