The American Bank was established on April 24, 1923, under the name The American National Bank of Wagoner. In 1952, the institution changed its name to The American Bank. In an organizational shift on March 24, 1980, the main office was relocated to 201 East Cherokee Street in Wagoner, Oklahoma. The American Bank continued to operate until May 16, 2022, when it merged with Blue Sky Bank, located in Pawhuska, Oklahoma, becoming part of that financial institution.
