History Of Teton Banks

Teton Banks was established on January 1, 1909, originally named The Citizen's State Bank of Choteau. Over the years, the institution underwent several changes, including a move of its main office to 201 North Main Avenue in Choteau, Montana, on April 19, 1990. In 1937, Teton Banks became a member of the Federal Reserve System and underwent a change in its regulatory agency and chartering agency status. On March 31, 2011, the institution changed its name to Teton Banks. A significant expansion occurred on February 20, 2010, when it acquired The First National Bank of Fairfield and relocated its main office to 321 Central Avenue in Fairfield, Montana. Teton Banks transitioned to being regulated by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation on August 27, 2015, and withdrew from membership in the Federal Reserve System, reclassifying as a State Chartered Bank. Ultimately, on October 29, 2016, Teton Banks was merged into First Security Bank in Bozeman, Montana, and then became part of Glacier Bank in Kalispell, Montana, on February 28, 2018.
