Couldn't agree more with previous comment on having a local number. So frustrating!
I walked into the center road branch today to have a $100 bill broken. There were 2 tellers and only 1 customer at the window. I was asked by one teller if I had an account and I replied no. I was then told since I was not a customer they could not accommodate me. We purchased our "winter home" just a few blocks away and had not yet opened local bank account. I said thank you and was given a business card of the person who handles new accounts. Frustrated, I called 2 of my banks back in Indiana and asked anonymously if they would break a $100. Both banks said yes. I also understand that this would be scrutinized if it were a large amount or repeat occurrence or at an extremely busy time. I returned home to ask my neighbors (almost all snowbirds) about this and they were familiar with similar situations with this bank. This location is extremely convenient to us. The closest of any other bank. It's a shame that we will never find out what other services Synovus offers because of their policies to non members.
How the hell do we get a local number to the freaking bank. 10 minutes on hold to have to wait is ridiculous.
These people are always great to deal with! Always helpful and polite. They get the job done as all of us would want it to be done. Fast and Professional!
Do you tell your customers that you are selling their personal info?
Info like, SS#, income, account balances, payment history, transaction history, and account transactions? I'll bet people start leaving when they find out, better yet, we should just start a class action law suite.
1. Received a postcard incentive to open an account, 2. had to leave work early to open this account because branches close at 4 PM, 3. was interrogated when I presented the incentive and it was clear immediately I didn't fit some physical characteristic in their target marketing (age, gender, race...), 4. was told they'd honor the incentive - after I complained about the way I was treated, and if I met the requirements (my intention!), 5. I had to ask several times to be referred to their lenders since I'm trying to buy a house (indifference), 6. the account was opened mid-April 2022 and to date, no incentive paid - was told it would be Sept 30th. Unethical, deceptive, discriminatory. Try calling any time of day and you'll wait 30+ minutes. The only positive thing I can say about Synovus has been staff professionalism. I've heard they pay well with generous bonuses. Good for them. Bad for consumers. I'm sorry I ever opened this account.
This bank unfortunately needs to change its rules and regulations involving new accounts. I was shocked, when my wife and I applied for a joint on line account, that there is a hold on the account for 30 days. Any check posted to the account took at least 2 weeks to clear. We made a deposit of $8,000.00 from an out of state bank and was told that would be held for 3 weeks. During the next three weeks a scammer hacked into our out of state bank account on our computer. The out of state bank closed our account to protect us from any more loses. Meanwhile the $8000.00 hit the scammed account and was not paid as a NSF deposit. Synovus immediately froze our new account and it was closed to any use of that account. After explaining the circumstances, they still kept the account frozen. I have since pulled out our entire account with Synovus Bank and move on to another bank with a 9 day holding period for a new account. I will say there is one plus, Tammy at the Inner Perrimeter Valdosta Bank was very pleasant even under the stress I subjected her too.
This place is horrible!! Don't keep your money in this bank. They will ruin you, your life, your finances. All the while charging you a fee, smiling and dictating when, where and how you control your money. There is no reason to keep abusing your selves like I and many others have done for years. Take your money to Englewood Bank and Trust, Bank of America or as much as I hate to say it Wells Fargo. As it's much, much more reputable than this place. Banked here for years. Out of Convenience.. don't make the same mistake. Your money deserves better and so do you!!
Friendly, and helpful to a fault. Possibly the best banking experience I have ever had.
I would like to comment on the service and professional behavior at the Boston branch. I have had opportunity to interact with the staff and I really want to commend everyone there. I want to shine a light on the personal service and feeling of family that is evident here. Mr. Jordan in particular seems to go above and beyond to make every customer enjoy their experience when interacting with him and the staff. They make me feel like a part of the family. I a world where its is easy to get lost in the hustle and be treated like a number, it is refreshing to find a place that still manages to conduct business in such a personal manner.
The online system is unrelated to this specific branch location. The workers at this branch are personable, knowledgeable, and helpful. Synovus is easy enough to bank with as a whole, though NBSC was easier. But I only call this location when I have a question or concern, never the master help center. I stay with this bank because of the staff here.
This bank is the best! The staff, all of them, have always been very courteous and professional with us. I appreciate their friendliness and they always have a smile on their faces and say, "Good morning!" No matter our problem or situation, they have solved it. I couldn't ask for better service.
I rate this branch 5 stars because of the customer service. Mr. Jordan is the professional gentleman that I deal with. Mr. Jordan goes the extra mile whenever my husband and I are in need. He drove from Boston to Cairo to bring and explain the credit card application to my husband who is disabled. Mr. Jordan is very professional and always willing to help. If you are ever in the Thomasville or Boston area and need to talk to a Branch Manager or a professional in the bank, Mr. Jordan is the one whom I recommend.
Your new online system sucks. I don't do mobile apps and want the old system back.
people at cool springs branch very rude and not helpful at all
