Swedish-American State Bank was established on March 13, 1913, under its original name. The bank's main office was initially located on Main Street in Courtland, Kansas, until it was moved to 324 Liberty Street on March 31, 2006. Over the years, the institution underwent several regulatory changes. On October 3, 2000, it became a member of the Federal Reserve System and changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Reserve.
