History Of Susquehanna Bank

Susquehanna Bank, originally established as Farmers First National Bank in 1901, underwent several name changes and mergers throughout its history. In 1972, the institution changed its name to Farmers First Bank and later withdrew from membership in the Federal Reserve System. Over the following decades, Susquehanna Bank expanded through strategic acquisitions, including The Farmers National Bank of Ephrata in 1972 and The First National Bank of Marietta in 1973. The bank continued to grow by acquiring several other institutions, notably The Manheim National Bank in 1987, and by the early 2000s, it transformed into Susquehanna Bank Pennsylvania. A significant change occurred in 2008 when Susquehanna Bank acquired its namesake Susquehanna Bank and subsequently rebranded itself as Susquehanna Bank. In 2012, it expanded further by acquiring Graystone Tower Bank. Finally, on August 1, 2015, Susquehanna Bank merged with Branch Banking and Trust Company, becoming part of Truist Financial Corporation, and the institution was officially renamed Truist Bank on December 7, 2019.
