HISTORY OF SUNSOUTH BANK
SunSouth Bank was established on November 26, 1954, originally under the name The Peoples Bank. Over the years, the bank underwent several relocations and a name change. On April 24, 1990, it moved its main office to Main Street in Clio, Alabama. On November 1, 2002, the institution changed its name to SunSouth Bank and subsequently relocated its main office to 256 Honeysuckle Road, Brightleaf Court, Suite 19, in Dothan, Alabama, that same day. The bank later moved its main office again on April 28, 2003, to 108 Jamestown Boulevard in Dothan, Alabama. After more than six decades of operation, SunSouth Bank voluntarily closed and liquidated its assets on January 26, 2024.
