History Of Stone Bank
Stone Bank, originally established as the First National Bank of Altheimer on April 29, 1955, has undergone several significant changes throughout its history. In 1989, the bank relocated its main office to Main Street in Altheimer, Arkansas. On April 1, 2009, it transitioned its name to Ozark Heritage Bank National Association and moved its main office to 802 East Main Street in Mountain View, Arkansas. On August 5, 2015, the institution changed its name to Stone Bank and changed its charter to a State Chartered Bank, withdrawing from membership in the Federal Reserve System and becoming regulated by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. The bank regained membership in the Federal Reserve System on November 1, 2023, at which time it also changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Reserve and updated its bank classification to a State Chartered Bank that is a member of the Federal Reserve System. Notably, on September 20, 2019, Stone Bank expanded its operations by acquiring De Witt Bank and Trust Company located in De Witt, Arkansas.
