State Central Bank, originally established as The State Central Savings Bank on March 17, 1858, has undergone several significant changes throughout its history. The institution changed its name to State Central Bank on January 11, 1983. Over the years, it expanded through acquisitions, notably acquiring Iowa State Bank in Stockport, Iowa, on April 16, 1977, and again acquiring another Iowa State Bank branch in Fort Madison, Iowa, on July 9, 1988.
