The State Bank of Saunemin was established on June 1, 1911. Initially serving the local community, the bank underwent several changes in its operational structure and location throughout its history. On December 30, 1989, the main office of the bank was relocated to Main Street in Saunemin, Illinois. This was followed by another move on March 31, 2006, when the main office was transferred to 59 North Street in Saunemin. The State Bank of Saunemin continued its operations until it merged with the State Bank of Graymont in Graymont, Illinois, on January 4, 2022, thereby ceasing to exist as an independent institution.
